DnA Design is a young full service design firm in Homer, Alaska. Our work includes building design, site planning, landscape architecture, environmental planning and research, and building energy analysis. With projects ranging from private residential lots to large scale planning, renovations and developments, parks and urban plazas as well as habitat and wetland restoration.

We are David Scheer and Allegra Bukojemsky. We have been collaborating on designs both formally and informally for over 5 years and officially joined forces in 2006. David’s training and experience in architecture, construction and building science and Allegra’s background in landscape architecture, design and ecology make for a dynamic partnership. We are vested in our community, David sits on the Planning Commission and the Economic Development Commission, and Allegra sits on the Citizen's Advisory Committee for the Homer Comprehensive Plan.

David Scheer is trained as an architect with over three years of professional design experience and 20 years in the construction industry. In addition to building design and construction, David’s work regularly includes building energy simulation consulting, and environmental field data collection and analysis, 3d modeling, site planning, subdivision design and construction administration. Ongoing research includes analysis of the economic benefits of sustainable design, built aesthetics for cold climates, and factors of integration between human and ecological systems.
